Collections Specialist

Job Description

We are looking to hire a Collections Associate for our Sandy Springs location! This is a temporary opportunity that will last approximately 6 months.

Duties

  • Manage a portfolio of B2B accounts to minimize delinquency and encourage timely payment.
  • Conduct outbound collection calls and emails to resolve outstanding invoices in a professional, customer-focused manner.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies, disputed charges, short pays, and invoice issues; collaborate with internal teams (Billing, Customer Service, Sales) to resolve them.
  • Negotiate payment plans, settlements, and revised terms when appropriate.
  • Monitor aging reports and flag high-risk accounts for escalation.
  • Document all communications, commitments, payment arrangements, and follow-up actions in the ERP/CRM system.
  • Research account status, credit terms, payment histories, and customer agreements to inform collection strategy.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on collection efforts, trends, and risk exposure.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Build strong professional relationships with business customers to improve payment habits and reduce future past-due balances.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of B2B collections or accounts receivable experience required.
  • Experience managing a portfolio with high call volume or large invoice sets preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP/AR systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, and work independently.
